Mousie's best friend and frequent co-venturer is Flippers McGee. Flippers is a porcupine, though his spikes are soft and he has little impishly beady eyes. Don't ask why or how he got his name - though it may have something to do with being Irish. Or it might not. It also might have something to do with a distant great-grand-seal ancestor. Or, once again, maybe not. It most definitely does not have to do with the fact that Flippers McGee is a wonderfully silly name that is fun to shout from the rooftops. No, certainly not.
Flippers McGee is very good at getting lost, whether in a backpack, car, or bed (under cloudy covers or among myriad pillow mountains.) Sometimes he sits on the couch staring out the window, thinking how nice it is to have a couch on which to sit and a window through which to observe the passage of time.
Flippers McGee is a philosopher.
